Building Regional Connections at the Caribbean Association of Fire Chiefs Conference 2026

n May, IRP representatives Brent Hernandez and Marc Thompson attended the Caribbean Association of Fire Chiefs (CAFC) Conference in the Dominican Republic, joining fire service leaders and emergency response professionals from across the Caribbean.

While conferences often provide opportunities to showcase products and services, the value of CAFC extended far beyond the exhibition floor. It was an opportunity to strengthen relationships, gain insight into the evolving needs of fire services throughout the region, and position IRP as a trusted partner in helping organizations protect lives and property.

Throughout the event, delegates from Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, Guyana, Jamaica, Anguilla, the Cayman Islands, Montserrat, Turks and Caicos, the US Virgin Islands, and other territories engaged with our team to discuss operational challenges, emerging technologies, and future equipment requirements.

At the IRP booth, attendees had the opportunity to explore a range of firefighting, rescue, and safety solutions, including the MSA M1 SCBA, Globe Classix turnout gear, Seek Thermal imaging cameras, CMC rescue equipment, Delta Fire nozzles, and the MSA H2 helmet. The booth also featured a hands-on knot-tying activity that encouraged engagement and sparked valuable conversations with delegates from across the region.

One of the most rewarding outcomes of the conference was the number of meaningful discussions that took place. Several fire services expressed interest in products showcased by IRP, including thermal imaging solutions, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), rescue equipment, firefighting nozzles, gas detection technology, and rescue helmets.

Beyond product discussions, the conference provided valuable market intelligence that will help guide our regional business development efforts. Conversations with fire chiefs and senior officers offered insight into procurement plans, compliance requirements, operational priorities, and emerging trends across Caribbean fire services.

These interactions also highlighted the importance of maintaining a visible and active presence within the regional emergency response community. Building trust and credibility often happens through face-to-face engagement, and CAFC continues to be an important platform for strengthening those relationships.

The conference also reinforced IRP’s commitment to supporting the Caribbean fire service sector with innovative solutions, technical expertise, and ongoing service support. As the needs of emergency responders continue to evolve, opportunities like CAFC allow us to better understand those challenges and ensure we remain responsive to the needs of our customers and partners.

We extend our appreciation to the Caribbean Association of Fire Chiefs for hosting another successful conference and creating a space where industry partners and fire service professionals can come together to share knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and advance emergency response capabilities throughout the region.

The connections made, insights gained, and opportunities identified during the conference will continue to support IRP’s growth and regional impact throughout 2026 and beyond.
